Customizing the Special menu

Application Wizard gives you full freedom of customizing the Special menu. You can arrange items as you prefer, add frequently used file and folders, remove unnecessary items and choose whether to display previews.

To customize the Special menu, open the Application Wizard pane in System Preferences, click the Menus tab and click the Configure Special Menu button.

To add a new item to the Special menu, select it in the Items list and click the Add button. Alternatively, you can also quickly drag items from the Items list to the Special Menu list.

To add a frequently used file or folder to the Special menu, select File or Folder... in the Items list and click Add or drag it to the Special Menu list, then select the desired file or folder in the displayed dialog and click Add. Alternatively, you can also quickly drag files and folders directly from the Finder to the Special Menu list.

To add a smart folder to the Special menu, drag it from the Finder to the Special Menu list.

To change a file or folder you have added to the Special menu, select it in the Special Menu list and click the Change button. Select a new file or folder in the displayed dialog and click Change.

To rearrange items in the Special menu, drag them in the Special Menu list. To remove an item from the Special menu, select it in the Special Menu list and click the Remove button or press the Delete key.

When you move or rename a file or folder you have added to the Special menu, Application Wizard will try to automatically update its path. If the path can't be updated (because you moved the file or folder to a different volume for instance) the item will appear in red and display a question mark icon ( ) in the Special Menu list and disappear from the Special menu.

To view an invalid path, turn on the Info button in the dialog and move the mouse pointer over the file's or folder's name in the Special Menu list. To fix the path, select the item in the Special Menu list and click the Fix Path button. Reselect the file or folder and click Fix.

Besides allowing you to organize items in the Special menu, Application Wizard lets you decide whether the Special menu should display previews. Tell me more
