Adding cities |
To add a new city, choose Pane > Cities & Time Zones to open the Cities & Time Zones pane and click the New City button.
1. Enter your new city's name and country in the City and Country fields.
2. If available, enter a weather station's four-character ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) location indicator in the Weather station indicator field.
| To find the closest weather station and its ICAO location indicator, connect to the Internet and choose Help > Lookup Weather Station Indicator. 3. Enter your new city's geographical coordinates in the Latitude and Longitude fields. To switch to South latitudes or West longitudes, click the N or E button, respectively.

If your city is in the United States or Antarctica, you can lookup its geographical coordinates by connecting to the Internet and choosing Help > Lookup Latitude & Longitude > United States & Antarctica. Your browser will take you to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (BGN) Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) which you can query. Tell me more If your city is located outside the United States and Antarctica, you can lookup its geographical coordinates by connecting to the Internet and choosing Help > Lookup Latitude & Longitude > Rest of the World. 4. Enter your new city's standard offset in hours and minutes from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). To switch to negative UTC offsets, click the + button.

5. If your new city observes daylight-saving time during summer, select the Daylight-saving time checkbox and specify the corresponding adjustment, start and end.

To quickly set your city's daylight-saving time information, click the DST Rules button to open the DST Rules panel, select a country or region in the list and click the Apply Rule button. If your city's country or region does not appear in the DST Rules panel, then it either does not observe daylight-saving time or has no fixed daylight-saving time rule. To lookup your city's daylight-saving information for the current year, connect to the Internet and choose Help > Lookup UTC Offset & DST. 6. Enter your new city's standard time zone abbreviation in the Standard time zone field. If your city observes daylight-saving time, enter its daylight time zone abbreviation in the Daylight time zone text field.
| Once you have specified your city's offset from UTC and daylight-saving time information, you can quickly set its standard and daylight time zone abbreviation by clicking the associated Time zones drop-down menu and choosing the desired time zone from the displayed menu. |
Click OK to close the dialog and add the new city.
