Finding latitudes & longitudes

World Clock Deluxe uses geographical coordinates to sort or keep clocks arranged by longitude or longitude offset.

To find the latitude and longitude of a city located in the United States or Antarctica, connect to the Internet and choose Help > Lookup Latitude & Longitude > United States & Antarctica. Your browser will take you to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (BGN) Geographic Names Information System (GNIS).

If your city is located in the United States, click Domestic Names and then Search GNIS in the Main Menu to display the query form for the United States and its territories, enter the city name in the Feature Name field, select a state or territory in the State or Territory pop-up menu and click the Send Query button. If you are looking for a location in Antarctica, click Antarctic Names and then Search in the Main Menu to display the query form for Antarctica. Enter the location's name in the Feature Name field and click the Send Query button.

To find the latitude and longitude of a city outside the United States and Antarctica, connect to the Internet and choose Help > Lookup Latitude & Longitude > Rest of the World. Your browser will take you to the GEOnet Names Server (GNS) search page, developed and maintained by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Select a country in the Country Name list, enter the city in the Name field and click the Search Database button.
