Clocks palette tips and tricks

World Clock Deluxe lets you quickly accomplish many frequent tasks directly from the Clocks palette.

To do an action, follow the tips indicated below.

Action Tip
Opening panes and preferences  
Open the Clocks pane Click any clock and choose Clocks from the displayed pop-up menu
Open the Cities & Time Zones pane Click any clock and choose Cities & Time Zones from the displayed pop-up menu
Open the Time Converter pane Click any clock and choose Time Converter from the displayed pop-up menu
Open World Clock Deluxe Preferences Click any clock and choose Preferences from the displayed pop-up menu
Open the Date & Time pane of your System Preferences Click any clock and choose Date & Time from the displayed pop-up menu
Open the International pane of your System Preferences Click any clock and choose International from the displayed pop-up menu
Make World Clock Deluxe active and bring all its windows to the front Click any clock and choose Bring to Front or Bring All to Front from the displayed pop-up menu
Quit World Clock Deluxe Click any clock and choose Quit from the displayed pop-up menu
Showing the weather  
Show the weather in one of your clocks' cities Connect to the Internet, then Shift-Control-click any clock and choose the desired city from the displayed pop-up menu
Show the weather in all your clocks' cities Connect to the Internet, then Shift-Control-click any clock and choose All Cities from the displayed pop-up menu
Showing, hiding and viewing clocks  
Hide a clock Command-click the clock and drag it out of the palette

Control-click the clock and choose Hide from the displayed pop-up menu
Hide all clocks but one Control-click the clock you don't want to hide and choose Hide Others from the displayed pop-up menu
Show a hidden clock Control-click any clock and choose the desired Show command from the displayed pop-up menu
Show all clocks Control-click any clock and choose Show All from the displayed pop-up menu
View clocks Click any clock and view the clocks listed in the displayed pop-up menu - depending on how you configured the menu you can view all clocks, the clocks that are visible in the palette or the clocks that are hidden in the palette
Editing clocks  
Change a clock's format Shift-click the clock and select or deselect the desired item in the Show submenu of the displayed pop-up menu
Change a clock's date format Shift-click the clock and choose the desired date format from the Date Format submenu of the displayed pop-up menu
Change a clock's time format Shift-click the clock and choose the desired time format from the Time Format submenu of the displayed pop-up menu
Assign or remove a clock's label Shift-click the clock and choose the desired label or None from the Label submenu of the displayed pop-up menu
Associate a new city or time zone to a clock or assign an alternate text to a clock Shift-click the clock and choose Edit Clock from the displayed pop-up menu
Rearranging and scrolling clocks  
Rearrange clocks Command-click clocks and drag them in the palette (the Keep clocks arranged by checkbox in the Clocks pane must be deselected)
Scroll clocks Click the left and right or, if the palette is vertical, up and down scroll arrows

If controls are hidden, Control-click the palette's background and choose Scroll Left and Scroll Right or, if the palette is vertical, Scroll Up and Scroll Down from the displayed contextual menu
Changing the way the palette looks  
Show analog or digital clocks Control-click the palette's background and choose Analog Clocks or Digital Clocks from the displayed contextual menu
Change the palette's orientation Control-click the palette's background and choose Display Clocks Horizontally or Display Clocks Vertically from the displayed contextual menu

Shift-Command-click the palette's background
Condense or expand clocks (digital clocks only) Control-click the palette's background and choose Condense Clocks or Expand Clocks from the displayed contextual menu
Start or stop clocks rotation Control-click the palette's background and choose Rotate Clocks or Stop Clocks Rotation from the displayed contextual menu
Adjust the rotation speed Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired time interval from the Rotation Speed submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Add or remove a rotation transition effect Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired effect or None from the Transition Effect submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Change the palette's level Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired level from the Level submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Change the palette's font Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired font from the Font submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Change the palette's type size Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired size from the Font Size submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Change the dial size (analog clocks only) Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired size from the Dial Size submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Change the palette's opacity Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired opacity from the Opacity submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Make the palette's text opaque when clocks are transparent Control-click the palette's background and choose Don't Apply to Text from the Opacity submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Show or hide the palette's controls and or Control-click the palette's background and choose Show Controls or Hide Controls submenu in the displayed contextual menu

Shift-click the palette's background
Moving, resizing and hiding the palette  
Move the palette Click the palette's background and drag the palette
Anchor the palette to a screen corner Click the palette's background and start dragging, then press Command-A to activate an anchor corner (note that it is important that you press the key combination after you have started dragging)
Resize the palette Drag the resize control in the palette's lower-right corner

If controls are hidden, Control-click the palette's background and choose the desired number of clocks from the Resize To submenu in the displayed contextual menu
Hide the palette Click the button in palette's top-left corner

If controls are hidden, click any clock and choose Close Palette from the displayed pop-up menu
