If you're anything like our man Power - and he suspects that you are - you've got about ten apps running in the background at this very moment, performing a wide array of exotic functions. And while you've doubtless got a processor that's "screamingly fast" (as Steve Jobs would say), you hate having to click on a background window to quit that particular application. Why staunch the bitflow when you don't absolutely have to?
Never fear: Power's got a CSM solution to this virtual thorn in your side. Quit CSM is an unobtrusive utility that can terminate one or all of your running apps without making them active. It can also show you the largest chunk of unused RAM in your system, as well as how much memory each of your applications is using. So when Power's system performance isn't all it could be, he just checks Quit CSM for any RAM-hogging applications that he can safely kill. And if a background app hangs on him and won't go active, no problem - Quit CSM can shut it right down.

Quit different - Who says quitters never win? Maybe they just don't know the right way to quit, which would be MaBaSoft's Quit CSM, a $5 shareware Control Strip Module that lets you quit background apps without bringing them up front - individually or all at once. [...]

A CSM that I myself have recently begun using, is Quit CSM, by MaBaSoft (Shareware $5). This nifty little module does so many things, and does them really well. [...]

One of the best pieces of Shareware I've ever seen. It should be added to the MacOS. Bravo.

Rating:

Superb. Incredibly handy and nice to look at too! Six stars!

Rating:

One of the best Control Strip modules I have found. Quit CSM is very practical and useful. It offers some nice features like the ability to quit individual programs or all running programs, restart and shut down the computer. It can also display the RAM usage and largest unused block for the System as well as for individual programs.

Rating:

Very practical features. To me, it is indispensable. The RAM usage at a glance is alone worth the money. Very easily accessible menu for quitting selective apps w/o bringing them to the front. Other utilities can do this, but with additional features not needed and much extension overhead. Quit CSM is the best.

Rating:

Simple, elegant, and trouble-free. The RAM usage is nice--far less cumbersome than get info--and the ability to easily quit any app without leaving the one you are using is a great convenience.
