We are working on a completely revised Euro Assistant Pro version that we plan to release in spring 2008 and which, among many new features, fixes the problem.

I can't update rates automatically. If I click the Update button Euro Assistant Pro displays "fxp.oanda.com unexpectedly dropped the connection". What's wrong?

I can't update rates automatically. If I click the Update button the Log column displays "Updating ... euro exchange rate", but exchange rates and the Rates last updated field don't change. What's wrong?

In June 2003 OANDA introduced changes in its Foreign Exchange Protocol (FXP) that make Euro Assistant Pro 2.5.3 or earlier unable to retrieve rates from the fxp.oanda.com server. In fact as soon as Euro Assistant Pro connects to fxp.oanda.com the server drops the connection.

Since we couldn't obtain any information concerning the problem from OANDA, we decided to drop the use of FXP and make Euro Assistant Pro update rates automatically using the Daily euro foreign exchange reference rates published by the European Central Bank, the Daily Noon Rates published by the Bank of Canada and the Representative Exchange Rates for Selected Currencies published by the International Monetary Fund.

To update rates automatically, download and install the latest Euro Assistant Pro version.

An incompatibility with Mac OS X 10.2 or later causes Euro Assistant Pro 2.5.3 or earlier to open as an empty window and not to respond when the Update rates at startup option is checked.

To solve the problem, download and install the latest Euro Assistant Pro version.
