If the menu panel is in your way or if you regularly work with full-screen applications or use Split View, you can hide the menu panel and show it just when you need it by moving the pointer to the panel’s position on the side of the screen.
Open Application Wizard. On macOS 13 or later, choose Application Wizard > Settings. On macOS 12 or 11, choose Application Wizard > Preferences. In the General pane, select the “Automatically hide and show the menu panel” checkbox.
Control-click the panel’s background and choose Turn Hiding On from the shortcut menu.
