The menu panel can now be configured by showing, hiding, and rearranging buttons. To hide or move buttons, click them while holding down the Command key and drag them out of the panel or to their new position. To show hidden buttons, click the panel background while holding down the Command key and display the Buttons menu.
The menu panel can alternatively be configured by clicking the Configure button in the Options pane of the Application Wizard preferences.
The Application Wizard preferences have a now a Menus pane providing options to configure the Open, Quit, Switch, and Special menus.
The “Show icons” option has been introduced. This option lets you show and hide icons in the Open, Quit, Switch, and Special menus.
The “Selectable group menu items” option has been introduced. This option - available as a hidden preference in version 1.0 - lets you open, quit, and hide all the applications belonging to a group by selecting the group’s item in the Open, Quit, and Switch menus.
The “Show empty groups” option has been introduced. This option - available as a hidden preference in version 1.0 - lets you show and hide empty groups in the Open, Quit, and Switch menus.
The “Show groups with no running applications” option has been introduced. This option - available as a hidden preference in version 1.0 - lets you show and hide groups which do not contain open applications in the Quit and Switch menus.
The “Make folder menus hierarchical” option has been introduced. This option makes the Applications Folder, Classic Applications Folder, and Developer Applications Folder submenus hierarchical and lets you open any folder in the Mac OS X, Classic, and Developer Applications folder using the Open menu.
The “Turn off automatic synchronization” option has been introduced. This option lets you speed up the display of the Applications Folder, Classic Applications Folder, Developer Applications Folder, and System Preferences submenus in the Open menu by making Application Wizard build them just once, the first time they are displayed.
When automatic synchronization is turned off submenus can be manually synchronized by displaying them while holding down the Control key.
The Open menu can now be configured by removing unnecessary items. To show or hide items in the Open menu, click the Configure Menu button in the Menus pane in the Application Wizard preferences.
The Open menu displays no Classic Applications Folder item if the “Applications (Mac OS 9)” folder is not available on your Classic startup volume. Similarly, it displays no Developer Applications Folder item if the Mac OS X Developer Tools have not been installed.
The “Show excluded applications” option has been introduced. This option lets you show and hide the Excluded Applications submenu in the Quit menu.
The “Show background-only applications” option has been introduced. This option - available as a hidden preference in version 1.0 - lets you show the Background-Only Applications submenu in the Quit menu and quit background-only applications using Application Wizard.
The “Reopen applications when making them active” option has been introduced. This option - available as a hidden preference in version 1.0 - makes the Switch menu behave in same way as the Dock and reopen applications instead of simply making them active.
The “Show Quit/Launch Finder commands” option has been introduced. This option - available as a hidden preference in version 1.0 - lets you display the Quit Finder and Launch Finder commands in the Special menu and quit or launch the Finder using Application Wizard.
On macOS 10.2 or later, the Restart and Shut Down commands in the Special menu let you now restart and shut down your computer without asking you to confirm your choice. Similarly, on macOS 10.1 or later, the Log Out command lets you now immediately log out.
A bug causing Application Wizard to quit unexpectedly when applications incorrectly localizing their display name had to be shown in the Open menu has been fixed.
A bug causing Application Wizard to freeze when reopening certain applications (e.g. Opera) has been fixed.
A bug causing the Quit Others and Quit All commands to quit Application Wizard when background-only applications were shown in the Quit menu has been fixed.
