Open menu items have now icons. In addition to that, icons can now be associated to groups: Application Wizard comes with a set of seven predefined icons but lets you also assign custom icons to groups.
The Menus pane has been revised. Options have been reorganized in different groups (Appearance, Groups, Advanced), Open menu options have been moved to the Configure Open Menu dialog and the “Use smaller font size” option has been introduced.
The Configure Open Menu and Configure Special Menu dialogs have been completely revised and now give you full freedom of customization: items can be added, removed, and arranged as desired, separators can be added or removed as needed.
Files and folders can now be added to the Special menu so that you can quickly access frequently used items.
On macOS 10.3 or later, you can now show file previews in the Special menu. Previews let you:
view a file’s kind, size, creation, and modification date, image size (pictures and movies) and duration (songs and movies);
preview pictures, movies, PDF, and text files (preview sizes can be adjusted as desired by clicking the Configure button in the Configure Special Menu dialog and dragging size sliders in the Previews panel);
preview songs, display album covers, and view the embedded metadata (title, artist, album, genre, ... );
easily display the metadata associated with pictures (general, Exif, GIF, GPS, IPTC, JFIF, PNG, TIFF, DNG, and Photoshop properties, Nikon maker notes) and save them as RTF (requires macOS 10.4 or later);
open files with a specific application or quickly open them with one of the running applications;
show files in the Finder, move them to the Trash, and copy them to the desktop.
Ejectable volumes can now be ejected directly from the Special menu by choosing the Eject command or simply holding down the Option key and selecting them in the Special menu.
Several changes have been introduced in the Switch menu.
To switch to a different application and hide all the other applications, you must now hold down the Shift key while displaying the Switch menu.
When the “Make group menu items choosable” option is checked, choosing a group menu item shows all applications belonging to the group: to hide all the applications in the group, you must now hold down the Option key.
When the “Make group menu items choosable” is checked, you can now show all the applications in a group and hide the other applications by holding down the Shift key and choosing the group menu item.
The Show All and “Show All and Hide Others” commands have been added to group submenus.
When you move or rename folders you added to the Open menu, Application Wizard now automatically updates their paths, so that you do not need to fix them anymore.
A bug (introduced in version 1.6) causing Application Wizard to ignore screen resolution changes has been fixed.
Several other minor improvements have been introduced and some other minor bugs have been fixed.
