Besides images, music, and movies, the Special menu lets you preview several types of documents so that you can quickly find files on your computer.
You can preview PDF files, text files (plain text and rich text format files, OpenDocument text files, XML property lists, source and strings files), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents, Pages, Numbers, and KeyNote documents, HTML files, CSV files, fonts, and other types of documents.
To preview a document, simply select it in the Special menu. If you do not see previews, you may have disabled them. To re-enable them, select the “Show previews in the Special menu” checkbox in the Previews pane of Application Wizard Settings (macOS 13 or later) or Application Wizard Preferences (macOS 12 or 11).
Note: While previewing a PDF file you can scroll through its pages. Just press the right and left arrow keys or move the pointer over the preview and click the arrow buttons.
